Facebook Frustrations
To those who know me, it’s no secret I’m not a fan of Facebook.
It’s too much to explain but the gist is that the potential for a new AOL is much to high for my tastes.
But to add one detail as to why Facebook is so frustrating is that whenever someone posts a link to some content they’ve shared it always requires some Facebook App to be registered in order for me to see the content.
This is the definition of how broken the Facebook content sharing model is compared to the “normal” internet. Email, twitter, blog posts, etc… all operate simply. There’s a link, you click it, and you go there. No “app installations” full of “permission to use your information” dialog boxes. So frustrating.
I’m not yet at the point to deleting my account, too many people I know solely use Facebook to share, but I’m getting there.
Why I Hate Android
Why do I hate Android? It’s definitely one of the questions I get asked most often these days. And most of those that don’t ask probably assume it’s because I’m an iPhone guy. People see negative take after negative take about the operating system and label me as “unreasonable” or “biased” or worse.
I should probably explain.
Believe it or not, I actually don’t hate Android. That is to say, I don’t hate the concept of Android — in fact, at one point, I loved it. What I hate is what Android has become. And more specifically, what Google has done with Android.
